Tutorials: Curved icons
Tutorial: How to make curved icons.

The secret to curved icons is of course to make the corner curved, and to save it with a transparent background.

After you have finished the picture you want to use as an icon, make sure to merge all layers into one, so that you are left with one layer and no background.

Mark the area of your icon with the rectangular marguee tool.
Choose Select - Modify - Smooth...
Add a number to define the curve (I have used 15 in this example)

Click Ctrl + I to inverse the selection, so that the area now selected is anything but what you want to have as an icon.

Click delete, so that you now are left with your curved icon on a transparent background.

Cut the icon to a minimum size by trimming away the transparent area....
Choose Image - Trim...

Choose to trim away Transparent pixels
from Top, Bottom, Left and Right,

The picture you are left with is this:

Save it as .gif or .png (to preserve transparency)

Thank you very much :) I'll have a play with that later.
